Pardon the mess. Updates in progress. Be back soon.
I am a perpetually peripatetic world citizen and impassioned student of human behavior. I explore consciousness and transparency while scrutinizing my own subjective and objective realities in pursuit of kaizen, or at least a relative approximation of it. With this in mind, I'm starting over again. Again. At heart, I am a storyteller, both literary and visual. I have been doing it my whole life, whether I realized it or not. It's an integral part of who I am.
After having walked, sometimes stumbled, or even crawled, through some of the deepest, darkest caverns in my mind, I am beginning to understand that I see things differently from most. The trick is learning, whether through careful analysis or trial and error, how to more effectively communicate my thoughts, feelings, and memories to other wandering travelers in the often perplexing material world around me.
More often than not, I still feel as if my sincerest efforts end up lost in translation. But my purpose in life is to be a messenger, to interpret narrative, to unravel complexity, to seek communion with life. I am interested in personifying the highest ideals and liberating the greatest potential that humanity has to offer.
Even though I may ultimately fail to make an enduring dent in this reality, I find myself persistently compelled to persevere in my journey onward, exploring more fully the limits of my own experience, perception, and expression, while encouraging and empowering others to do the same.
The ultimate roadmap of human destiny lies in pursuit of liberation. It is an inevitable byproduct of conscious evolution and self actualization. Helping each other get there can become an empowering avenue to fulfillment and the realization of an undeniably grander purpose to life. As we reunite in the veracity of oneness and interdependence, our spirits will once again discover true freedom.
One of my greatest ambitions in life is to become a philanthropist. I have been working behind the scenes on projects that I hope will enable this eventuality. Despite numerous speed bumps, road blocks, brick walls, and other involuntary detours, I believe I am on the right path for me.
I still have far to travel before reaching my final destination. But I am committed to helping humanity build a brighter future for all life, no matter how long it takes.
Who I Am and What I Do
I am a transmodern renaissance soul and social entrepreneur with a performing arts background, a lifetime passion for storytelling, and an academic interest in transdisciplinary studies at the intersection of philosophy, technology, and creativity.
I write about personal growth, lifestyle design, conscious commerce, holistic wellness, social change, and deliberate wandering, among other topics. I am interested in cultivating autonomy, vitality, and identity while pursuing authenticity and transparency in all areas of life, work, and play. I also have an exponentially growing passion for leading a mindful, minimalist existence.
For as long as I can remember, I have had an enduring fondness for travel literature, particularly narratives that recount inner and outer journeys in tandem. For more reasons than I can recall, these stories keep the spark in my spirit and continue to provide fuel for my greatest passions in life.
Since leaving my home town planted in the middle of an Iowa cornfield, I have traveled in 13 countries and 28 states. I have lived in Tucson, Tallahassee, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, and Atlanta, respectively, with a few detours back to Iowa sprinkled in for good measure. A native of rural Iowa cultivating a location independent lifestyle, my home is wherever I hang my satchel. I am currently based in Pasadena, California.
I manually coded and uploaded my first personal website in 1996 and later performed website design, branding, development, copywriting, communication, and multimedia consulting for ten years. I also spent several years as a freelance editor, proofreader, and language tutor before spearheading numerous virtual projects and solo businesses over the course of a decade. I have been entrepreneurial in some capacity since early childhood.
My academic background lies largely within humanities, modern languages, and social sciences, but I also learned coding, scripting, and server administration on my own using an arguably haphazard combination of bookstores, libraries, and various online resources.
I have a BA in International Affairs and French with an emphasis in Global Business and a self-designed Interdisciplinary Studies MA in English-Rhetoric-Communication and Multimedia-Design-Photography. I read and write in both English and French.
I have now chosen to focus primarily on narrative storytelling and authentic expression, using words and images as a conduit for social progress and human evolution.
